I was able to contact Frank via email. He said that he was not able to identify the parties in question.

the infamous cover of that 1984 watchtower (27 years ago) was perhaps the last prediction / prophecy of the watchtower society.
will there be any more or have they finally learned their lesson?
some think they are like a race-track junkie and are addicted to predictions.
Hi Room 215,
I thought of using Bro and Sis but -- hey, at the time of the photo, they no longer carried that status since I got outta there in 1978. Even today, I don't have that feeling of brotherhood as I'm still out. No disrespect to either, however, as they were doing (as I was) what they thought was correct. Similarly, I can't bring myself to calling the priest at the local Catholic church, Father Immanuel.
It is thought, however, that he was disfellowshipped after leaving Bethel and it is speculated, naturally (after all, he was elderly), that he disassociated himself or df'd because of apostasy. Either way, hooray for him.

Frank,
We are trying to complete the names of those folks from Bethel who are on the cover of the infamous 1984 Watchtower. Some people who know you have the feeling you may know them. Please take a look at the cover below.
First, No. 8 on the list. One source has him as Aquilla Zook, 1898-1993.
Second, that Bethel chiropractor husband Steiman (spelling?) and his wife, nos. 5 and 10. Do you know them and do you know their first names as well?
Len Miller
ps: Anyone seeing this post please feel welcome to pop in with any suggestions on obtaining these names.

Hi VM44,
Might I suggest once more that someone should try contacting the user Frank Toth (fjtoth) concerning this Watchtower cover?
Hmmm ... yes, I remember you have already suggested that -- my bad! I'll PM him, then create a special thread to have him look at the PM.
Thanks for being persistent.

i am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.
gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.
to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.
Hi Uzzah,
Here's one for all Bethelites, since we've got you corraled. That 1984 Watchtower with those 16 elderly Bethelites pictured on the cover -- thanks to help from many, we've got most of them identified. Can you help fill in some blanks. No. 8 is thought to be Aquilla Zook, 1898-1993. Any thoughts? Then how about the Steiman's, chiropractor husband and wife. First names? Any idea where they moved after Bethel? Len.

Many of those names you will find on your WT Library CD. Some have their life story recounted.
Another bit of trivia, here. I couldn't help but notice the ages of most of these folks. Two of them became centenarians . On average, they lived some 92.5 years where the average U.S. citizen lives to 78.3.
Was it the Bethel lifestyle? The food? The lack of stress?

Below is the latest image. I will leave the old image intact on Photobucket for those who may prefer it.
You will see it now includes names (several have been corrected) and birth and passing dates. Number 8 is thought to be Aquilla Zook, 1898-1993. Hey, you ex-Bethelites -- please check this one out. Also, husband and wife Steimans. He was a chiropractor at Bethel. Then thought to move to Tampa, FL. Then thought to be disfellowshipped.
We need confirmation. Len.
in 1990 john wischuck one of the heavyweights (member of the factory committee)at brooklyn hq committed suicide jumping from the window of his room down to the ground) this episode passed unnoticed for most of the jw all around the world.
a few weeks later that year, max larson was visiting the branch in spain and he didnt mention anything at all of the dead.
only good news and how jw were succeeding and all that kind of rubbish.
Hi Yknot, you have a PM.

i know that the failed predictions of amageddon for 1914, 1918, 1925, during wwii, and 1975 have been well documented here and other places, but are there any [documented] 'prophesies' that actually came true?.
